German Nutrition Society (DGE)

Scientifically sound.
Implemented for everyday use.

The team at Schwerin Menü places the greatest importance on a balanced, healthy and age-appropriate diet for children and young people. Our aim is to offer high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals every day. Since 2017 we have therefore had ourselves audited and certified by the DGE on a regular basis. Our processes follow the high DGE quality standard and take current scientific findings on optimal nutrient supply into account.

Certified to the DGE quality standard for catering in schools.

A common thread that runs from purchasing through production and order picking all the way to our diners; for quality you can taste every day.

DGE-certified

Quality standard for
healthy communal catering.

We take our guidance from the quality standard of the German Nutrition Society (DGE) and additionally offer a certified ovo-lacto-vegetarian menu line as a fully balanced alternative.

In this way we ensure a varied, contemporary and sustainable diet that is geared to the needs of the pupils and meets the highest standards.

01
What does DGE certification mean?

Clear criteria for
balanced school catering.

The DGE quality standard defines transparent criteria for communal catering. Among other things, purchasing, kitchen processes, hygiene and cleanliness as well as structured documentation of menu planning are assessed.

DGE certification guarantees that these requirements are consistently met and verified through regular checks. In this way we make a valuable contribution to sustainable, health-promoting and modern catering in schools.

  • Regular use of vegetables, fruit and wholegrain products
  • Balanced menu planning
  • Mindful use of sugar, fat and salt
  • Preference for regional and seasonal products
  • Adequate quantities of vitamin-rich vegetable side dishes
02
Certified menu line

Ovo-lacto-vegetarian -
fully balanced and of equal value.

In addition to the classic mixed diet we offer a standalone, certified ovo-lacto-vegetarian menu line. It is designed to be fully balanced and covers the nutritional needs of a meal for children and young people.

  • No meat and no fish
  • Use of dairy and egg products
  • Balanced combination of high-quality plant-based protein sources
  • Regular use of wholegrain products
  • Varied filling side dishes
03
Nutritionally balanced

Steady energy supply
throughout the whole school day.

Our menu planning - whether mixed diet or vegetarian - takes into account:

  • Regular proportions of vegetables and fruit
  • Fibre-rich grains and wholegrain products
  • High-quality protein sources (animal and plant-based)
  • Vitamin-preserving cooking methods
  • Reduced quantities of sugar, fat and salt
Our aspiration
Planned on a sound scientific basis, implemented responsibly and designed for everyday use.
Added value for schools, providers & parents

What our DGE certification achieves:

Balanced school catering has an effect on many levels: for pupils, for teachers and at home.

For pupils

Support for concentration, balanced nutrient intake and the promotion of healthy eating habits.

For schools and providers

A transparent quality standard, reliable documented planning and consideration of different dietary forms.

For parents

Confidence through scientifically sound criteria and the assurance that lunch is part of a good routine.

A sustainable approach

Vegetarian alternatives and mindful use of resources, without compromising on quality or nutrient supply.

Responsibility & sustainability

Mindful, sustainable communal catering, day after day.

We combine

Freshly prepared.
Regional ingredients.
Without flavour enhancers.

The combination of DGE orientation and a certified ovo-lacto-vegetarian menu line supports mindful and sustainable communal catering. The additional vegetarian element contributes to a resource-conserving approach, without compromising on quality or nutrient supply.

Fresh preparation. Regional and seasonal ingredients. No flavour enhancers. This creates catering that makes quality demonstrable, enables variety, builds trust and convinces in the long term.
